About

The flagship.

There is a reason this is the #1 seller.

The Medium Weight Utility Boot Sock is the center of the OmniWool Tactical range: enough cushioning and coverage for serious boot wear without stepping all the way into extreme-cold bulk. It is fully cushioned through the foot and leg, providing balanced protection, comfort, and Merino coverage inside combat, duty, hunting, and work boots.

MU-3 is the balanced-coverage platform: complete foot and leg cushioning with medium bulk throughout. Traditional Utility plaiting positions nylon reinforcement toward the exterior for exceptional resistance to boot abrasion, while Merino delivers moisture management and temperature regulation against the foot. A non-binding top with calf release supports long-duration wear. A top breather panel helps manage heat, while arch support, graduated compression, and Y-heel construction keep the sock controlled inside the boot. This is the sock for the user who does not want to analyze every variable.

Put it on. Lace up. Go.

Care

Machine wash your socks inside out on a gentle or wool cycle in cold water (30°C / 85°F or below), using a mild pH-neutral detergent or a dedicated wool wash. To hand wash, soak them for 10 to 15 minutes in cool water with a small amount of mild detergent, gently squeeze the suds through, and rinse in cool water without wringing or twisting.

Skip the fabric softener, since it coats the merino fibers and strips their natural moisture-wicking and odor resistance. Chlorine bleach permanently damages the wool and breaks down the spandex, and hot water will shrink and felt the knit.

Lay the socks flat on a towel to air dry, as hanging them wet can stretch them out of shape. If the care label allows tumble drying, use the lowest heat or air-fluff setting, though repeated heat will wear down the spandex over time.
